Camp Wanakee is a Christian Adventure camp and retreat center providing an eight week summer camping program to children and youth (4-18 yrs). Wanakee is nestled in the hills of central New Hampshire, along the shore of Lake Pemigewasset, in the town of Meredith. The emphasis is small groups designed to further growth in mind, body, soul and strength. Wanakee's summer program offers a wide variety of camping experiences designed to build relationships with each other and with God.

Throughout Wanakee’s 50 years its camping ideals have remained centered on providing campers with the best opportunities to grow in Faith and Fellowship. Campers stay in small groups (sites) that stay together all week in all activities. With a focus on small group camping, friends made at camp are some of the most caring and steadfast friends ever.

Londonderry United Methodist Church raises money each year to provide "camperships" for families who need assistance with camp fees. We also provide adult volunteers and many of our teenagers work as camp counselors during the summer. To contribute just place your donation in an envelope marked Wanakee Campership Fund and drop it in the offering plate.

At our 2012 Combined Worship Service on Sunday June 3, we collected materials for camper kits and pet feeding kits, which were assembled and delivered to Wanakee (see photo below).  Wanakee Executive Director Michael Moore was very appreciative of the generosity and support shown by LUMC members.
