Many Opportunities To Serve
Londonderry United Methodist Church actively supports a variety of missions -- some with financial support, and some with hands-on service. Here are a few of the hands-on mission opportunities currently available:
Anne-Marie House Volunteer. There are many different ways of volunteering at this outreach to homeless families located in Hudson, NH. If you missed our training session, we can arrange for you to attend a session at another church.
Camp Wanakee. Adult volunteers are needed every week throughout the summer at this United Methodist summer camp.
Church Nursery Volunteeer. We have professional nursery staff during all worship services and Sunday School, but welcome volunteer assistance. You will need to be approved as a Child Safe Ministry Volunteer.
Hospice Volunteer. Hospice services provide support for those who are nearing the end of their life in this world. LUMC members are active hospice volunteers for Amedisys home health services in Londonderry. Training is available.
Manchester Food Pantry Volunteer. An LUMC member serves on the board of the Manchester Food Pantry and invites others from the church to connect and join in supporting this mission.
Sonshine Soup Kitchen Volunteer. The soup kitchen in Derry, NH serves about 40 hot meals to local area residents five nights a week. We send a team of volunteers to help every other month.
Sunday School Teacher. We always have room for more Sunday School teachers and assistants. All classes require at least two adults present at all times, so you'll have an opportunity to learn from others as you go. Volunteers in Mission. This mission of the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church engages in building projects for mission. LUMC volunteers typically spend one or two weeks helping to erect a new building, or extending or renovating existing buildings each summer.
