Mission of the Month
Our Mission of the Month for February is the Cooper Community Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts. The Hattie B. Cooper Community Center is dedicated to helping individuals develop the qualities needed to become responsible and caring citizens. To achieve this, the Center offers a variety of program activities and support services designed to assist in the educational, emotional, physical and social development of the people in the greater Roxbury community, regardless of race, religion, ethnic or economic background.
The Council of Bishops of the United Methodist Church has released a new Pastoral Letter that all United Methodists are invited to read and reflect upon. There will be additional resources released in the coming months for local churches to use for more in-depth study and reflection. The letter is entitled God’s Renewed Creation: Call to Hope and Action. Please visit http://www.hopeandaction.org/ to read the letter and other associated materials.
